Absolutely delicious — every dish was flavorful, authentic, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. The restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for spending time with family or even enjoying a meal by yourself. I’d come back just for the food! I highly recommend trying their vegetarian combo — it’s full of rich flavors and perfectly balanced.

My husband and I split the large vegetarian combo ($35), which we highly recommend! It was enough food to fill us up even when we were very hungry. Best Ethiopian restaurant in the area. The food took a bit to come out but it seemed fresh so it was worth the wait.

Like the river nile, This Abay restaurant delivers an amazing experience from start to finish. The vegetarian options were outstanding, full of flavor, hearty, and clearly made with love. The misir wot (spicy lentils), gomen (collard greens), and shiro were so good, I almost forgot to share! The atmosphere was cozy, welcoming, and full of cultural charm. Traditional music played softly in the background, and the decor transported us straight to Ethiopia. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed meal with friends or a cozy date night. To top it all off, we ended our meal with the traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony. The coffee was rich, aromatic, and served with etan (incense), which added such a beautiful and calming touch to the experience. You can really feel the hospitality and heart in every detail here. Highly recommend. I’ll definitely be back (probably tomorrow )

The Food here is very good! I ordered the Doro Wat with the St. George Beer & it was everything to fulfill my cravings. I’d highly recommend if you’re looking for a local Ethiopian food spot!

We LOVED the amazing options for vegetarians! Different lentil dishes, some spicy, some not. There was a cabbage dish, a beet dish, and salad that was dressed to perfection. The bread was a lovely sponge texture that held up for picking up food, but was still so soft to eat. Loved the variety of flavors and spice (or mild) in this plate! Lovely music and friendly staff! If you're looking for a vegetarian or vegan meal, it's amazing!

I really enjoyed my visit to Abay Restaurant. The food was delicious and full of authentic Ethiopian flavor — especially the doro wat and tibs. The injera was soft, fresh, and perfect for sharing. The staff were very kind and welcoming, and the service was quick. The place was clean and had a warm, home-like feeling. The prices were fair for the amount of food you get. I’ll definitely come back again and recommend Abay to anyone who wants to experience real Ethiopian food!

I went a second time, and unlike my first visit, the experience was much better. The service improved, and the fresh meat on Thursdays was a highlight. Based on this visit, I’m increasing my rating and would now recommend giving it a try!

Nestled in the heart of Tukwila, Dunya Restaurant offers an authentic Ethiopian dining experience that truly stands out. From the moment you step inside, the warm, inviting atmosphere coupled with traditional Ethiopian music sets the stage for a memorable meal. The highlight here is undoubtedly the Awase Beef Tibs—tender, perfectly seasoned, and bursting with rich flavors that speak to the heritage behind every bite. Equally impressive is the Injera, the soft, spongy flatbread that serves as both plate and utensil, masterfully crafted to hold the complex and varied stews.

The vegetarian combo deserves special mention. It’s a symphony of flavors—spicy misir wot, hearty gomen, and creamy shiro—all balanced skillfully to satisfy both novice and seasoned palates. The freshness and care that go into these dishes remind you that Ethiopian cuisine is more than food; it’s a cultural embrace. Pairing your meal with traditional Ethiopian coffee, prepared with evocative incense, finishes the experience with a peaceful, aromatic touch that lingers long after the last sip.

Dunya isn’t just about food. It’s about connection—to tradition, flavor, and community. Whether you’re craving the robust, slow-cooked Doro Wat with a St. George Beer or seeking a vegetarian feast full of texture and depth, this restaurant delivers with authenticity and heart. Every dish feels thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, inviting you to savor the rich culinary tapestry of Ethiopia in a space that feels both cozy and vibrant.
